Orson Hyde — Dedicatory Prayer for the Return of the Jews

On October 24, 1841, Elder Orson Hyde, acting under an assignment from Joseph Smith, ascended the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. He offered a fervent dedicatory prayer to consecrate the land for the gathering of Abraham's scattered posterity. He petitioned the Lord to 'remove the barrenness of the land' and to 'raise up Jerusalem.'
