Henry Allen Beal: A Sanpete Valley Pioneer

Henry Allen Beal was a Latter-day Saint pioneer of the Sanpete Valley, whose life is recorded in a dedicated biography, 'Henry Allen Beal: A Sanpete Valley Pioneer' (Garland, Utah: V. W. Johns, 1971). His diaries and family records are among the sources cited in Leonard J. Arrington's study of rural life among nineteenth-century Mormons, documenting the hard, faithful life of the Sanpete Saints who settled, irrigated, and built up their valley communities. Brother Beal's life is a faith-promoting witness of the rural Saints whose daily labor and faithful endurance made the desert blossom as a rose.
