David Candland — Spiritual Manifestation in London

Bibliography Research
While living in London in 1841, David Candland was a religious seeker who encountered the message of the restored gospel through early Latter-day Saint missionaries. He recorded a specific, powerful spiritual manifestation that occurred while he was investigating the faith. He described a 'light' and a profound sense of 'certainty' that filled his mind and soul, which he identified as the witness of the Holy Ghost. This distinct experience removed all doubt regarding the mission of Joseph Smith and compelled him to be baptized and eventually emigrate to Nauvoo, Illinois, to join the main body of the Saints.
