Heber S. Allen: Faithful President of the Alberta Stake and Pioneer of the Canadian Saints

Heber S. Allen served as President of the Alberta Stake in Canada, shepherding the early Latter-day Saint settlements in southern Alberta. Speaking in the October 1902 General Conference, Elder Allen expressed his gratitude for the privilege of being with the Saints and described the growth of the Alberta colony—beginning with only about a hundred people who had gathered there. President Heber J. Grant later 'expressed appreciation to those present on this memorable occasion and paid tribute to the faithful leadership of President Heber S. Allen.' His ministry represents the faith and sacrifice of the Latter-day Saint colonization of western Canada.
