Mary Ann Adams — Divine Warning of the Holy Ghost
Published August 31, 2026 at 12:11 AM
While living in the pioneer conditions of early Parowan, Mary Ann Adams (wife of William Adams) was prompted by a sudden and distinct spiritual impression to move her children from the specific spot where they were playing near their home. Although there was no obvious sign of danger, she immediately obeyed the internal warning and cleared the children from the area. Moments after she had moved them, a large portion of a wall (or chimney) collapsed directly onto the exact location where the children had been standing seconds before. The family recognized this event as a miraculous intervention and a clear instance of divine protection provided through the gift of the Holy Ghost.
