The Saints in Glasgow experienced frequent spiritual manifestations during their meetings, including speaking in tongues, interpretation of tongues, and healing the infirm, which bolstered their faith and encouraged the attendance of strangers.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 46, No. 1, 7 January 1884, p. 11):

The Saints in Glasgow are enjoying a goodly portion of the Spirit of the Lord. Their meetings are well attended by strangers, and the gifts of the Gospel—tongues, interpretation of tongues, and the healing of the sick—are frequently manifested among them, which serves to strengthen the faith of the Saints and to convince the honest in heart of the truth of the work.

In Their Own Words

“The Saints are enjoying themselves in their meetings, having great cause to rejoice in the blessings following that have beeh promised through obedience. We are having great manifestations of the Spirit in bearing testin speaking in “tongues and inter- Preting the same, healing the infirm and building each other up in our faith. — Millennial Star 46:1”
