President Alfons Finck of the Hamburg conference acted as an interpreter for a party visiting from Liverpool. Despite having poor knowledge of English, he found himself able to interpret effectively by the power of God, describing it as a personal experience of the gift of tongues. His speed and accuracy were so remarkable that it was a subject of general comment at the time.

In Their Own Words

“It was to me a personal experience of what the gift of tongues is. My English is so poor that I could not interpret by my own power, but by the power of God, who blessed me in what I did for you. Whenever I read your speeches in our German Star, I am astonished and thankful to the Lord that he upheld me at that time. — Millennial Star 84:1”
