While living in Kirtland, Zina D. H. Young walked into the woods to pray. She received such a powerful outpouring of the Spirit that she broke forth in the gift of tongues.
In Their Own Words
“Once when walking in the woods, she bowed in earnest prayer to her Father in heaven, and received such an out-pouring of the Spirit that she broke forth in the gift of tongues, and at another time she received the gift of interpretation and many can testify that in the exercise of this gift in wisdom to bless and comfort the Saints she was ever an humble instrument in God's hands. — The Young Woman's Journal 22:1”
