During a branch meeting in Newbury, Berks, the gift of tongues was manifested among the Saints, followed by an interpretation that exhorted the Saints to be faithful in keeping their covenants, reminding them that the Son of Man comes at an unknown hour.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 43, No. 9, 28 February 1881, p. 141):

In the Newbury Branch, the gift of tongues was manifested, and the interpretation was to the effect that the Saints should be faithful in keeping their covenants, for the Son of Man cometh at an hour they think not.

In Their Own Words

“The gift of tongues was manifested, causing the hearts of the Saints to rejoice, the interpretation exhorting the Saints to faithfulness in carrying out their covenants before the Lord, for The Son of man cometh in an hour ye know not of. — Millennial Star 43:9”
