During a Sanpete Stake quarterly conference of the Y.L.M.I.A., M. A. Hyde spoke in tongues. The interpretation was provided by Minerva Snow in one account and E. B. Wells in another. The message offered blessing and counsel to the young sisters, including exhortations to prepare for coming events, seek testimonies, and cultivate the gifts of the Spirit, with angels watching over them.
In Their Own Words
“She also spoke in tongues, and Sister Minerva Snow gave the interpretation, as follows: ' My dear young sisters, my heart is full of blessings for you. You have a great work to do, and will have to hold responsible positions ; so qualify yourselves both in body and in mind. Seek to obtain the good spirit, and you shall have peace in your hearts,' etc., etc. — The Young Woman's Journal 1:2”
