Healing of a young man from consumption

A lad who had been in the Church for several years was taken dangerously ill in the final stages of consumption. Physicians stated one lung was consumed and the other was wasting away, and that he was beyond recovery. After the Elders administered to him and constant prayers were offered, he recovered.

Fuller account of this event (as retold in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 37, No. 16 (April 19, 1875), p. 251):

A lad, who had been in the Church for several years, was taken dangerously ill in the last stage of consumption. Physicians stated that one lung was consumed and the other was rapidly wasting away, and that he was beyond recovery. The faithful mother, however, yielded not to despair; the boy was administered to by the Elders, and constant prayers were offered in his behalf. He recovered, and with gratitude he signifies to-day the power of the Priesthood and the efficacy of faith.
