A sister suffering from severe pleurisy and inflammation sent for the Elders in Canterbury. They anointed and blessed her, rebuking the power of Satan, and she recovered immediately.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 37, No. 16, 19 April 1875, p. 251):
A sister in the Canterbury Branch, who had been suffering for some time with pleurisy and inflammation, and was considered in a dangerous state, sent for the Elders. We administered to her, rebuking the disease in the name of the Lord, and she was immediately restored to health.
