Apostle Charles C. Rich, who had been prostrated by a stroke that impacted his speech and physical functions, arrived in Salt Lake City. At his own request, he was anointed by the brethren, after which he received strength, his speech was restored enough to express his wants, and other signs of improvement became visible.

In Their Own Words

“After his arrival in the city, he was, at his request, anointed by the brethren, and received much strength and benefit therefrom. His speech was considerably restored, so much so that he could talk for what he wanted, and other signs of improvement were visible in the various functions of his body. — Millennial Star 42:50”
