Apostle Moses Thatcher recalled an incident where President Charles C. Rich had counseled an immigrant train en route to southern California to take a specific route. The group disobeyed his counsel and took a different path; nearly all of them perished. Those who followed his counsel reached their destination safely.
In Their Own Words
“The speaker related an incident that Brother Rich had told him many years ago, about a certain immigrant train that was en route to southern California in the days of its early settlement, wherein they disobeyed his counsel and took a different route from the one he had counseled them to take, and nearly all of them perished, whereas those who did take his counsel got through, and arrived at their destination in California all right. — Millennial Star 45:51”
