An unnamed woman, not a member of the Church, had suffered from an affliction in her knee for fifteen years, causing lameness. After receiving anointing with oil, the pain left her and she was able to walk.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 15, No. 44, p. 716):
A woman, not a member of the Church, had been afflicted in her knee for fifteen years, and was quite lame. I anointed her with oil, and prayed for her, and the pain left her, and she was able to walk.
In Their Own Words
“A woman, not a member of the Church, had been afflicted in her knee for fifteen years, and was quite lame. I anointed her with oil, and prayed for her, and the pain left her, and she was able to walk.”
— A. F. McDonald, Letter to the Editor, Millennial Star
