Sara and Joseph, grieving over the death of their baby during a famine, approach the prophet Nephi after he has just ended the drought with rain. Through the prophet's blessing, their faith, and a direct miracle, the baby is restored to life and health.
In Their Own Words
“The prophet approached, realized their grief, and instantly shared it. ... 'Do you believe in Christ?' came the question they had already answered in harmony with the repentant multitude. 'Yes, we believe in Him and desire to be baptized in His name,' Joseph said. ... He laid his hands upon their heads, and they bowed them to his touch, thrilling to a strange new trust and joy. ... He came down from the tower then, and paused at its foot. ... Sara forgot to think him dead, and his eyes opened and he gave a little hungry cry, a cry that every mother recognizes from the day her child is born. ... Their baby was restored to them. — The Young Woman's Journal 38:7”
