In 1851, during his mission to Hawaii, George Q. Cannon experienced a profound vision of the Lord Jesus Christ. While walking along a road on the island of Maui, he saw the Savior and felt an overwhelming sense of peace and confirmation of his work. He later recorded in his journal that he saw the Lord's face and heard His voice, providing him with the spiritual strength to continue his difficult mission despite intense opposition and poverty.
