Margaret Robertson Jackson Buchanan — Visitation of John Jackson

Following the death of her first husband, John Jackson, in 1853, Margaret was left as a widow in Manti, Utah, facing significant hardship. During this period of mourning and uncertainty, she received a visitation or vision of her deceased husband, John. He appeared to her to provide comfort and specific guidance regarding her future. He told her that she should marry Archibald Buchanan and that Archibald would be a good father to her children and a faithful companion. Based on this spiritual direction, she accepted Archibald's proposal in 1857, a union that eventually led to their prominent role in the settlement of the Washington/St. George area.
