Abraham H. Cannon — Prophetic Dream of Apostleship

In October 1889, shortly before the General Conference of the Church, Abraham H. Cannon experienced a premonitory dream regarding his future ecclesiastical service. In the dream, he saw himself in a meeting with the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He was shown a vacant seat and was told that it was for him. At the time, he was serving as a member of the First Council of the Seventy. When the official call came days later for him to fill a vacancy in the Quorum of the Twelve, he recognized the event as the fulfillment of the divine manifestation he had received in his sleep.
