Hans Besenstiel was a Latter-day Saint convert who, upon accepting the restored gospel, gathered with the body of the Saints in their westward march. Like many European converts whose names now stand chiefly in the records of the gathering, he forsook his homeland to join the people of the covenant. His emigration is a faith-promoting witness of the faithful whose names are little known to history but fully known to the Lord, who counted the truth dearer than home and joined the gathering of the last days.
