Eli Bell: A Utah Pioneer of the 1851 Overland Company
Contributed by
LDS Witness Archive
Eli Bell was a Latter-day Saint pioneer who crossed the plains in the Utah Mormon Pioneer Overland Travel Company of 1851, married Martha Louisa Montgomery, and settled among the Saints in the valleys of the mountains. His 'History of Eli Bell,' preserved among the family and archival records, recounts the faithful journey of one of the pioneer families who gathered to Zion in the years after the first arrival. Brother Bell's life is a faith-promoting witness of the steady stream of Saints who, year after year in the 1850s, left all and came to Zion.
