Christopher Jones Arthur: Welsh Convert and Pioneer Diarist (1832–1918)

Christopher Jones Arthur (1832–1918) was born at Abersychan, Monmouthshire, Wales. He joined the restored gospel as a young man in Wales, emigrated to Utah, and kept a detailed diary—portions of which, including his testimony and accounts of temple work, are preserved in the Andrew Jenson collection and the Library of Congress collection. His diary records the life of a faithful Welsh convert who gathered to Zion, labored in the kingdom, and bore testimony in his writings. His record is one of the many quiet witnesses left by the early Saints of the truth of the Restoration.
