Edward H. Anderson: Missionary, Assistant Church Historian, and Author of 'A Brief History of the Church' (1858–1928)

Edward Henry (Heinrich) Anderson was born October 8, 1858, in Salt Lake City. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was called as Assistant Church Historian and Recorder, devoting his life to preserving and publishing the record of the Restoration. In 1905 he published 'A Brief History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints'—a concise, faithful testimony of the Restoration written for the wider world—and he contributed to and helped edit the Improvement Era. As a Church historian he labored to keep the memory of the Latter-day Saints alive; as a missionary he carried the restored gospel abroad. His faithful literary and historical work testified of the Restoration and helped the rising generation learn the story of the Church. He died February 1, 1928.
