After eighteen months of silence from his native country of Canada, Gilbert Belnap finally received a letter from his brother John, containing good news about all his brothers and information about his aged grandfather and mother. His brother promised to meet him at their place of residence on September 10, 1841. This divinely-timed correspondence reconnected Gilbert with his family after years of separation and orchestrated a meaningful family reunion.
