Gad Vojkůvka — Led to Turn on the Television and See His Mission President (1965)

On the very day Wallace F. Toronto unexpectedly appeared on Czechoslovakian national television during the 1965 Spartakiad festival, Church member Gad Vojkůvka's mother sent Gad out to go shopping. For a reason he could not even recall afterward, Gad decided to turn on the television set in the living room before he left. The TV started making a high-pitched noise, and Gad returned to the room to check what was wrong. To his astonishment, he saw the face of his much-loved mission president on the screen. He immediately called his family to join him, and together they watched as Wally nonchalantly spoke about his children and his home. The timing — Gad switching on the television at precisely the moment his mission president was broadcast, in a country where the Saints had had almost no contact with their leader for years — was a tender providence that rejoiced the hearts of the Vojkůvka family.
