Zina Ball, described as a fair, sweet young woman who died in her youth, bore a faithful testimony of the goodness and power of God at a meeting she attended. She said, “I know that if we will but do right God will bless us.” The account also praises her patience and thoughtfulness toward her parents during times of financial reversal and presents her life as an example of conviction and faith in the Church.

Fuller account of this event (as retold in The Young Woman's Journal, vol. 7 no. 5 (February 1896), page 235):

Zina Ball was a fair, sweet young woman, who died in her youth. I learned how, at a last meeting attended by her, she bravely arose and bore a faithful testimony of the goodness and power of her Creator, saying, 'I know that if we will but do right God will bless us,' and then again how patient and thoughtful of her parents under reverse of circumstances! She was a girl of strong conviction, and her life was a beautiful example of faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In Their Own Words

“I learned how, at a last meeting attended by her, she bravely arose and bore a faithful testimony of the goodness and power of her Creator, saying, 'I know that if we will but do right God will bless us,' and then again how patient and thoughtful of her parents under reverse of circumstances! — The Young Woman's Journal 7:5”
