During a meeting in Edinburgh where Elder John Crawford was teaching the Saints about gathering to Zion and building Temples, the spirit was strong. One sister present witnessed a vision of her deceased father and mother standing by the side of the speaker, looking pleased and steadfastly at her.

In Their Own Words

“At another time, in the hall in Edinburgh, while I was telling the Saints we were not gathering to Zion for riches, but to learn the ways of the Lord and walk in his paths, build Temples in which we could attend to ordinances for the living and the dead, etc., much of the Spirit of God was in our midst. I felt as though I could talk for hours, and the Saints felt as though they could listen for hours. Some of the Saints were able to discern spirits; one sister saw her father and mother standing at my side the whole of the time I spoke on that subject, looking pleased and steadfastly at her. It was such a good meeting that we hated to part.”
