Brother V. L. Halliday performed a blessing for Emily Hill, a pioneer woman who later became a well-known poet and author. During this blessing, Halliday pronounced a prophetic promise upon her that she would write in both prose and verse, and that through her writings, she would comfort the hearts of thousands. This promise was later fulfilled as Emily Hill became a significant literary figure in the Church, known for works such as the hymn 'As Sisters in Zion'.

In Their Own Words

“On one of these occasions Brother Halliday blessed me and confirmed upon me the promise that I should write in prose and in verse and thereby comfort the hearts of thousands. — Emily Hill, Representative Women of Deseret”
