On April 15th, while in the galley on the ship Juventa, Elder Thomas Hunt was scalded in the face by a pot of boiling pork, endangering his eyesight. After suffering in extreme agony until evening, he was administered to by the Priesthood, at which time the pain left him and he immediately began to recover.
In Their Own Words
“On Sunday, 15th April, Elder Thomas Hunt, whilst attending to his cooking in the galley, was scalded by the passengers’ steward throwing a potful of boiling pork in his face, thus endangering his eyesight. He was led down to his berth in extreme agony, and continued so until evening, when he was administered to, and the pain left him, and from that hour he began to amend. — Millennial Star 17:24”
