In November 1840, Abraham Hunsaker's brother, John Luce Hunsaker, was suffering from a severe illness and was under the care of a physician named Dr. Langrum. Abraham recorded in his journal that on the first Monday of November 1840, the same day as the U.S. presidential election, his brother was healed of this sickness.
