Shortly after Anson Call joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was administered to by the priesthood for his stammering of speech. He was miraculously relieved of this affliction through the power of the priesthood. This healing gave him confidence to preach the gospel to his old companions and schoolmates in the region where he lived. After this healing, he was ordained an elder and began his ministry to those he had known before his conversion.
In Their Own Words
“I have forgotten to say that shortly after I joined the Church, I was administered to for my stammering of speech from which I was relieved. I was also ordained an elder and preached the gospel to my old companions and schoolmates in the section of country round about.”
