Revelation of the position of the Church and future work through tongues

“While we were here, I felt very anxious to know of the position of affairs in the Church, and besought the Lord to enlighten me on this point. He did so, revealing through the gift of tongues, the interpretation of which was given to myself, the true position of the Church, and several other things, and also the Lord to show us, in vision, those people among whom he wished us to stop and confine our efforts, for our mission to Nova Scotia had been assigned to us at the request of brother Crosby, whose friends lived in that place. We saw the people, their houses, and the country, and the very place where we were to labor. We accordingly left our field of labor in Jefferson County, and started for Nova Scotia. We traveled by land and water, and after a long and tedious journey, we arrived at the place we had seen in vision, and found the people and the country to be the very same that had been shown to us. We commenced our labors, and the Lord blessed our efforts, and we were enabled to bring many into the Church.”
