In December 1841, a revelation was received through Joseph Smith regarding the welfare and care of Marinda Nancy Johnson Hyde while her husband, Orson Hyde, was away on a mission to Palestine. The revelation instructed that she and her children be taken into the homes of the faithful and cared for kindly until Orson's return, promising that the Lord would bless and heal those who provided this support without grudging. Marinda later recalled that the revelation was delivered to her and that the individuals mentioned in the text complied with the instructions.
In Their Own Words
“In a reminiscent account written four decades later, Hyde explained that the revelation was delivered to her... In an 1890 account, Robinson recalled that he and his wife “readily and ungrudgingly” obeyed the revelation. — Ebenezer Robinson, Reminiscent account”
