While performing missionary service in Rangoon, Burmah, R. Skelton suffered from extremely oppressive, heat-heavy weather where the thermometer reached high levels. He reported that his blood became heated to such an extent that he could barely endure it, and he survived through the power of God.
Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):
The weather for the past week has been very oppressive—I am told the thermometer has been 100 degrees in the shade—I have never realized the effects of it so much before in India; for a day or two it was all I could do to bear up under it—my blood became perfectly heated, so that it was painful for me to move, but I am now feeling quite right, thank the Lord, and it is nothing but His power that will save us from the effects of it.
In Their Own Words
“The weather for the past week has been very oppressive—I am told the thermometer has been 100 degrees in the shade—I have never realized the effects of it so much before in India; for a day or two it was all I could do to bear up under it—my blood became perfectly heated, so that it was painful for me to move, but I am now feeling quite right, thank the Lord, and it is nothing but His power that will save us from the effects of it. — Millennial Star 17:36”
