In a report regarding the Welsh mission, President George Teasdale notes that the spirit of prophecy and the gifts of the Spirit were frequently manifest among the Saints in their meetings. Through these spiritual manifestations, the Saints were admonished to be true to their covenants, and the Traveling Elders were informed of trials ahead and warned against temptation.

In Their Own Words

“A good spirit prevails in our meetings. The spirit of prophesy and the gifts of the Spirit are very frequently made manifest, and through these prophecies the Saints are admonished to be true to their covenants with the Lord, and to draw near unto Him by prayer, and He will draw near unto them; as His judgments are about to come upon the people. The faithful, God has promised He will redeem, etc. The Traveling Elders are informed of great trials for them being close at hand, and they are warned against temptation. We are doing all we can to warn the people, and to get the Saints to live their religion, that they may be prepared for the events that are rapidly approaching.”
