President James B. Walkley, while addressing a district meeting of the Watford, St. Albans and Luton branches, related an incident documenting that blessings specifically return to those who pay tithing, emphasizing that every law obeyed brings a reward.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 74, No. 39 (September 26, 1912), p. 621):

President James B. Walkley, of the Watford branch, spoke on the law of tithing, and related an incident showing that blessings specifically return to those who pay tithing, emphasizing that every law obeyed brings a reward.

In Their Own Words

“President James B. Walkley said that as soon as wickedness enters into the soul of man the Spirit of God and goodness goes out from him and vice versa. Related an instance to show that blessings recur to those who pay tithing. Every law obeyed will surely bring its reward. — Millennial Star 74:39”
