In the minutes of the Glasgow Conference, Elder A. N. McFarlane reports that through his efforts and the blessing of the Lord, the Dundee Conference is in good condition, and he has made himself so well-known among the people of Dundee that his face is as familiar to them as the town clock.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 28, No. 52, 29 December 1866, p. 828):
Elder A. N. McFarlane writes that the Dundee Conference is in a flourishing condition, and that he has made himself so well known among the people of Dundee, that his face is as familiar to them as the town clock.
In Their Own Words
“Elder McFarlane said the Dundee Conference was in good condition, but strangers would not attend the meetings, were too much given up to the cares of the world, and to riotous living; that he had made himself known among them, till his face was as familiar to them as the town clock. — Millennial Star 28:52”
