After a tragic house fire left her mortally burned, Mary Dickinson experienced a vision while on her deathbed. She described seeing a temple that was more beautiful than she had imagined. An angel appeared to her, invited her to stay, and promised to lay out work for her, instructing her to listen to the angels' music until she learned their songs. She told her mother and the Elders she could hear the heavenly music as she passed away.
In Their Own Words
“I dreamed that I went to a temple and it was so different from what I imagined, and when I got in, I did not want to leave. So I told the angel that was with me that I wanted to stay there forever and he said, ‘Little sister, you may,’ and I asked him what I should do and he told me that he had my work all laid out, ouly I must rest for a little while and listen to the music for I must learn to sing the songs that the angels sang. Do you know, mother, it seems to me that | can hear the music now.— The Young Woman's Journal 8:12”
