After a fatal train accident, the dying Maisie Carson gave a specific message to the hospital staff to call Phyllis Kent and inform her about money belonging to her and that she wished to be taken to where her mother is.
In Their Own Words
“The nurse told Phyllis of the girl’s request. 'We'll send her aunt a message at once,' Kenneth promised. Phyllis could not speak; she was looking down at Maisie’s face, hardly less white than the bandages above it that concealed the great gash across her forehead. Death had wiped out, for all time, the bitterness that had marred the soft lines of her lips; white lids covered the eyes which had seemed to hold unending resentment. — The Young Woman's Journal 36:6”
