During the closing exercises of the Brigham Young Academy, Sister Mary Ann Hyde sang a song in tongues, and Mother (Zina D. H. Young) gave the interpretation, declaring that angels sang with the school and that Jesus claimed it as His own.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Young Woman's Journal, vol. 12 no. 4 (April 1901), page 188):

During the closing exercises of the Brigham Young Academy, Sister Mary Ann Hyde sang a song in tongues, and Mother (Zina D. H. Young) gave the interpretation, declaring that angels sang with the school and that Jesus claimed it as His own.

In Their Own Words

“Once when Mother and Sister Mary Ann Hyde were at our closing exercises, the latter sang a most beautiful song in tongues; Mother gave the interpretation, and it was told Brother Maeser that angels came to sing with his school, that Jesus claimed it as His own, and many bright spirits were sent there by Him to prepare for future usefulness in His Kingdom. — The Young Woman's Journal 12:4”
