A six-year-old boy who had suffered from constant pain since birth and had been given up by doctors was administered to by missionaries. The pain left him immediately, he arose from his bed, and he has remained healthy since.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 59, No. 17 (29 April 1897), p. 267):

A little boy in Carbondale, six years of age, who had been in constant pain since his birth, and who had been given up by the doctors, was administered to by the Elders. The pain left him immediately, he arose from his bed, and has remained healthy since.

In Their Own Words

“The pains left him, and he got up from bed soon after. This was done nearly four months ago, and the longest he was out of bed before since his birth has been five weeks. He is now well and hearty, and looks better than he has done in his life before.— Millennial Star 59:17”
