While the influenza epidemic was raging in the United States, Elder W. McCracken Smith was attacked by the illness and became so critically ill that his life was despaired of. His father administered to him, and while weeping, promised him that he would recover and serve as an ambassador of Christ to the nations. He survived, and was present at the conference in Nottingham fulfilling that prophetic promise.
In Their Own Words
“While the influenza epidemic was raging in the United States, he was attacked. He became so ill that his life was despaired of. His father, he said, administered to him, and with tears coursing down his cheeks told him that he would live and would go to the nations of the earth as an ambassador of Christ. He was there that evening in fufillmeut of the promise made him by his father. — Millennial Star 84:47”
