Brother and Sister Warr of Sheffield lost their young daughter to diphtheria. Another daughter was hospitalized with the disease, and a third child was suffering from it at home. Both surviving children were reported to be improving at the time of the publication.
Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 61, No. 22, 1 June 1899, p. 347):
Brother and Sister Warr of Sheffield have been called to pass through deep waters. They have lost their young daughter with diphtheria. Another daughter is in the hospital with the same disease, and a third child is suffering from it at home. We are pleased to report that both the children are improving.
In Their Own Words
“Brother and Sister Warr, of Sheffield, not only lost their little daughter by diptheria, but another one had to be removed to the hospital, and still another had the same dread disease at home; but both are now improving and the family are as a consequence feeling more hopeful. — Millennial Star 61:22”
