An unnamed brother living in Wellington (Salop) who had been unable to attend to business for some months requested the Traveling Elders, W. S. Burton and John Bull, Jun., to consecrate oil and lay hands on him. John Bull, Jun. reports that upon returning five weeks later, the brother was able to jump with joy and attest that the Elders had done more for him than all the village doctors, asserting he was healed through the power of Almighty God.
In Their Own Words
“Another testimony can be added that the sacred power of healing is again on earth, —a brother living in Wellington, (Salop,) requested the Traveling Elders, brother W. S. Burton and myself, to consecrate some oil, anoint him with the same, and lay hands on his head, which was done some five weeks ago; he had not been able to attend to business for some months, but on my return a few days ago, he jumped with joy, and said you Elders have done more than all the doctors in the village could do; I know that through faith he was healed by the power of Almighty God.”
