Healing of Thomas Horkley from congenital lameness

Thomas Horkley, who was born as an invalid and unable to walk, was told by doctors he would never walk and likely not live past a certain age. When he was a child, Elders of the Church of Jesus Christ anointed him with oil and laid their hands upon his head. He was immediately healed, began to walk, and continued to walk throughout his life.

Fuller account of this event (in the witness’s own words):

I, at that time was an invalid and had been so from my birth, had never walked, and the doctors told my father that I never would, and could not only live until such an age (then a few years). The servants of the Lord anointed me with oil, and laid their hands on my head and blessed me with health, and immediately I walked. The neighbors seeing me walk were frightened and could not understand by what power I had so suddenly been healed. I have continued to walk from that time until now, and am thankful to say that I know that this is the kingdom of God.
