Healing of Peter Forsgren through Faith and Prayer

Peter Adolph Forsgren, born in Gefle, Sweden, on July 20, 1826, was suffering from consumption as a young man. Local physicians had given him only a few months to live. Following the arrival of his brother, John E. Forsgren, in Sweden as a missionary, Peter was converted to the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Peter was baptized by his brother on July 19, 1850 (some sources note July 26), becoming the first convert to be baptized in Sweden. Through his faith, prayers, and the healing powers associated with his conversion, Peter was miraculously restored to health. He went on to live a full life, eventually migrating to Utah where he became a prominent pioneer in Brigham City, serving as a Patriarch and a dedicated church member until his death in 1908 at the age of 82.
