A young boy, the son of Brother and Sister Barrow of Stockton, was sick to the point of death. Preparations were being made to prepare the body after death when Elders Walter G. Paul and Brother Dasley arrived. They anointed the boy and sealed the anointing, after which the boy went into a peaceful sleep. When the doctor arrived to issue a death certificate, he found the boy alive and recovered, exclaiming, 'Wonderful boy, wonderful boy.'
In Their Own Words
“This lad was sick nigh unto death. Preparations were being made to lay him out, when we received a card with a request to come quickly. We took the train, a distance of five miles, to their home: Upon arrival, death was expected any minute. I took the oil, anointed him, and Brother Dasley sealed the anointing, the Elders with the family exercising faith. He went off into a peaceful sleep, breathing naturally. At this point the doctor came in, fully expecting to see the body laid out. So sure was he that he had with him the death certificate. He looked at the boy, then at us, then at the family, and all that he could say was, 'Wonderful boy, wonderful boy.' He is now a marvel to the neighborhood.”
