John Haynes's eldest son suffered from a dislocated shoulder that caused a lame arm, preventing him from working. After administration by Elders John N. White and Enoch Russon, he was healed and returned to work the next day. Later, his other son suffered a head injury causing concussion of the brain. After administration by Elders Russon, Perkins, and Hymas, the boy recovered remarkably quickly.

In Their Own Words

“In June our eldest son had a very lame arm, caused by the dislocation of his shoulder when a child. After he commenced work it affected him so that he was compelled to stop. We called in Elders John N. White and Enoch Russon to administer to him, which they did, and he went to work next morning and has felt no pain since. On August 8th another son had a fall, lighting on his head, which caused concussion of the brain. The doctor came and rendered his aid, and left, telling us that it was a bad case. We sent for the Elders again (Elders Russon, Perkins and Hymas); they administered to him, and he commenced to recover. Next morning the doctor came, and to his great surprise our son was sitting up in bed singing the songs of Zion.”
