While departing from Lewis station on August 28, 1859, several members of an immigrant company of 387 souls were suffering from eating fruit. They were administered to by the Elders present and required no further assistance.

In Their Own Words

“On the morning of the 28th, as we were about starting from Lewis station, in Brown’s Hole, consisting of 66 waggons and 387 souls, all were in good health and spirits, with the exception of three or four, who were slightly afflicted with eating fruit, which is in great abundance on the road. Having administered to them, as they needed no other assistance, we pursued our route. — Millennial Star 21:46”
