While visiting the Yaqui Indians in Mexico in 1882, Brigham Young, Jr., contracted yellow fever and was brought near the point of death, but he was healed by the power of God.

Fuller account of this event (the complete account as preserved in The Latter-day Saints' Millennial Star, Vol. 67, No. 46, 16 November 1905):

While in Mexico, in 1882, Apostle Brigham Young, Jr., was attacked with yellow fever, and was brought to the very gates of death; but through the power of God, and the faith of the Saints, he was restored to health.
